The spring edition of our newsletter was just released, as always with varied and interesting reading stuff.

News from Apr 07, 2011

The first edition of the East European Studies (EES) Online newsletter 2011 has again a lot to tell its readership. The most recent and for our alumni  most interesting news  is the foundation of the Center for Global Politics Alumni Association. Discover what exactly happened at the end of February, when we registered the association and celebrated the occasion with representatives from all CGP programs at Freie Universität Berlin.

Moreover, alumni sent in contributions on a summer holiday in Abkhazia, on working at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, and on participating in the 34th Young Leader Seminar of the German-Russian Forum in Frankfurt am Main.

The recent in-house classes are described, pictures illustrating the various events. Our technical advisor gives the latest updates on the CGP Alumni Forum. Our Favorites topic of this edition is the Romanian Cultural Institute in Berlin that organized a Romanian film festival at the end of 2010. And last not least, the he New Library Portal of the Freie Universität Berlin is explained.

For the first time the CGP Advisory Board assembled at the CGP in early February this year. This was an important event for the Center for Global Politics. Besides, the chair of political sciences at FU Berlin with its head Professor Klaus Segbers is issuing a working paper series. The latest working paper, written by Franziska Weller, coordinator of the CGP Seasonal Schools, focuses on Securing Peace: The Role for Guarantees in Post Conflict Situations.  All this can be viewed in the newsletter's Center for Global Politics section

We wish our readers lots of fun reading!
