Richard Mole is Senior Lecturer in Political Sociology the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies. He has an MPhil from the University of Cambridge and a PhD from the London School of Economics, both in International Relations. After completing his PhD, he was a Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania's Solomon Asch Center for the Study of Ethnopolitical Conflict, before taking up a two-year Andrew W. Mellon Research Fellowship at UCL. In 2009 he was awarded a UCL Provost's Teaching Award for excellence in teaching.
His research interests include: Central European politics and society, nationalism and national identity, political discourse, gender and sexuality, migration, ethnic conflict regulation, minority rights, domestic and international politics of the Baltic States and the Russian Federation.
