Master's thesis
Students conclude the two-year executive master's program East European Studies by elaborating a master's thesis on a chosen topic concerning Eastern Europe.
Crowning task for achieving the MA degree is the Master's thesis. The Master’s thesis is designed to show that students are able to work on an issue applying scientific methodology and to present their results adequately, evaluating them critically. Students may chose the topic they wish to elaborate on. The topic has to be closely connected to the matters studied. Great importance is attached to the correct use of methodology, the application of theoretical models as well as an acceptable format. The Master's thesis of about 16,000 words has to be written within sixteen weeks. The thesis is appraised by two persons entitled to examine students.
