Kerstin Zimmer studied political sciences, sociology and economics at Frankfurt University. In 2004, she also obtained her PhD there. From 2001 till 2005 she worked as research fellow at the Institut für Politikwissenschaft of Frankfurt am Main university. Since 2005, she has been a research fellow at the Department of Sociology and the Center for Conflict Studies at Marburg University. From 2004 until 2008 she obtained an additional qualification in university teaching.
Her research interests include: society and political transformation, migration studies and minorities in Central and Eastern Europe.
