Barbara Dietz

Barbara Dietz received her master’s degree in economics (Dipl. Volksw.) from the University of Munich and obtained her doctorate (Dr. phil.) from the University of Bremen. She works as a Research Associate at the East European Institute in Munich. She has conducted several research and survey projects on the situation and prospects of ethnic Germans in the former Soviet Union and the integration of ethnic German immigrants from Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union in Germany. In addition she worked on the immigration and integration of Jewish quota refugees from the former USSR in Germany. Currently she is involved in research on East-West migration - focussing mainly on emigration movements from Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union – and on the integration of East European immigrants into Western societies.
