Gulnaz Sharafutinova
Gulnaz Sharafutdinova was born in Tatarstan (Russia). She came to the US to study English. She got her Bachelors degree from Florida Internation University and then her Master's degree from the Elliott School of International Relations (at George Washington University). Afterwards she worked for one year in Kazan - at the Department of Foreign Affairs - and then returned to the US for her Ph.D. She graduated just this past summer - with a Ph. D. in Political Science (George Washington University). Her areas of research are post-communism and Russian regions. Currently she is Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Studies at Miami University (Ohio/USA).
