Assignments
Students must complete and pass a specified number of module tasks including 4 essays and other smaller assignments and research tasks.
Example tasks from the Globalization Module
1) Go to one of the websites of international non-governmental organizations (“Transparency International” – www.transparency.org, “Amnesty International” – www.amnesty.org, “Publish What You Pay” – www.publishwhatyoupay.org, “Global Witness” – www.globalwitness.org, “Greenpeace” – www.greenpeace.org) and write a 500 word essay answering the following questions:
- What kind of institutional changes do these global actors bring?
- How do networking actors facilitate globalization?
2) Go to the websites of the Association of European Border Regions (www.aebr.net) and Euroregions (www.mcrit.com/espon_scenarios/visions_euroregions.htm) and write a 500 word essay answering the following questions:
- How does cross- and transborder cooperation contribute to the dynamics of globalization?
- What are the most significant fields of politics where subnational units are represented?
- What are the most meaningful mechanisms of regional actors’ influence upon the global agenda?
