Andrey S. Makarychev is Head of Academic Unit, Civil Service Academy in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. He has worked extensively in international relations and comparative politics. He has previously held several research posts and has coordinated several projects supported by the Central European University, IREX, the McArthur Foundation, the Open Society Institute, and NATO Democratic Institutions Fellowship Programme. Professor Makarychev has participated in or directed several international research projects. He is member of PONARS-Eurasia (Programme on New Approaches to Russian Security), NISPACEE (Network of Institutes of Public Administration in Central & Eastern Europe), and the Professionals for Cooperation Alumni Association.
