Claire Gordon
Claire Gordon holds a Master of Social Sciences from CREES Birmingham and a Dr. Phil. from Oxford. She is Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Government at the London School of Econo-mics and Political Science, UK. From June 1999 till October 2002 she was member of research team working on ESRC-funded project 'Elites and Institutions in Regional and Local Governance in Eastern Europe' exploring sub-national government in Eastern Europe and EU enlargement. She is editor of and regular contributor to quarterly Central European Update which examines political and economic situation in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. Her areas of interest include: EU enlargement into Eastern Europe and in particular the impact of EU conditionality on the subnational developments, EU enlargement and Russia – the impact of expansion of EU on Russia.
